Sire: Damien

Damien is a well-built Alaskan from an ISDRA gold-medal-winning sprint kennel with excellent bloodlines going back to Saunderson champion dogs. A soft-tempered male, Damien came to us for training and has since raced two seasons at Snowlion Kennels. This guy gets along well with his team mates and we hardly notice him at all on the team. Very quiet and focused.

He's produced some stunning pups, good athletes with confident demeanors. Several of his pups have blue eyes and nice thick coats.

Dam: Jett

Jett is one of our main leaders. A lovely girl with fluid gait and gazelle-like speed. She was bred from two Jeff King dogs who came down from the 4-time Iditarod champion's kennel in Denali Park, Alaska. She has raced with us for three seasons and she also fills out the team on our holiday sled tours around the Tahoe  and Lassen area.

Jett will rejoin the team for the start of fall training near Lassen National Park in a couple of weeks.

Sire: Mason in lead (front right)

Bred by Iditarod  champion Mitch Seavey, Mason has an impressive pedigree which includes some of the top-producing dogs in the history of the breed. (see his pedigree in the sidebar). His parents, Harlem and Piper, were on Mitch's 2004 Iditarod champion  team.

This past winter Mason completed numerous distance races in Alaska and has two Iditarod finishes to his credit.    

Dam: Laurie

Laurie is from the Lonesome Dove litter of the 4-time Iditard champion Jeff King. Several of her siblings have run on his main  team.  Laurie came down from Denali Park 4 years ago and has led our team to several first place finishes.

Her illustrious pedigree starts with her famous sire Yucksi, the main stud dog at Jeff King's Husky Homestead. Yucksi was bred the late Susan Butcher, herself a 4-time Iditarod champion; Her dam Jenna was a Golden Harness winner on Jeff King's winning team, a prestigious award given to the most outstanding lead dog of the Iditarod.

Friendly and outgoing, she is also the official greeter for our kennel at our public tours and school demonstrations.
